AUTHOR WALTER M. PERKINS – A Chicago-based journalist and communications professional with more than 25 years experience. He has been published in Nation’s Business, Vital Speeches of the Day, National Black MBA Magazine, Harvard Business Review, The Quill, N’DIGO, and Dollars & Sense Magazine, among others.

Perkins is the founding editor of the one hundred magazine, Operation PUSH Magazine, the former official publications of the 100 Black Men of America and the Rainbow PUSH Coalition.

Rosa Parks, Walter Cronkite, Smokey Robinson, Quincy Jones, Congressman John Lewis, and many others have been the subject of interviews by the author. Holder of a Juris Doctorate and a journalism degree, Perkins has taught journalism, media law and writing for publication at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

His first book, Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship, INC., Black & White Works – The First 50 Years: 1962 -2012, was published in 2011. It is the 50-year history of Groove Phi Groove, founded at Morgan State University in Baltimore October 12, 1962.
